Determination of the efficiency of the BLDC motor based on the analysis of the measured vibrations
Keywords:
vibrations, BLDC motor, motor efficiency, Discrete Fourier TransformAbstract
The results of efficiency tests of the brushless BLDC motor are presented. The efficiency of the engine was tested by measuring vibrations in the engine and propeller system. Measurements were made over the entire engine speed range, with increasing engine speeds with each subsequent measurement. The vibration registering system was an accelerometer, while the method of communication used was the I2C bus, UART bus. The measured vibrations were subjected to signal processing and analysis. Signal processing and analysis consisted in the use of a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), and then plotting the amplitude-time and amplitude-phase characteristics. Thanks to this, the results obtained from the conducted tests are clearly illustrating the output characteristics of the BLDC brushless motor.
